Most of the big houses around Birmingham had their grocery requisites delivered by Barrows.Barrows was started by Richard Cadbury Barrow, nephew of John Cadbury, the founder of Cadbury Chocolate. Richard had taken over John Cadbury's shop in Bull Street when his uncle, John, had moved to Crooked Lane to become wholesalers. Barrow's was bought by the Key Markets division of Fitch Lovell in the 60s and the name was discontinued. If you worked for or have information about Barrow's please contact us.
